FAQs

  • When a propane tank is completely empty, we follow a standard safety procedure by turning off the tank during the filling process. This is done for several crucial reasons:

    Preventing Gas Buildup:

Empty tanks may contain air or other gases. Turning off the tank helps prevent any inadvertent buildup of gases during the filling process, ensuring a safe environment.

    Overfill Prevention:

Propane tanks are equipped with an overfill protection device (OPD). By turning off the tank, our technicians can carefully monitor the filling process to avoid triggering the OPD and ensuring the tank is filled to the appropriate level.

    Technician Safety:

Our trained technicians adhere to strict safety protocols. Turning off the tank enhances their safety and allows them to carry out the filling process in a controlled manner.

Steps for turning your tank back on:

    1. Ensure Appliances are Off:

Before turning on the propane tank, ensure that all propane-powered appliances (such as stoves, heaters, or water heaters) are turned off.

    2. Open the Valve Slowly:

Turn the valve on the propane tank counterclockwise slowly. Avoid turning it too quickly to prevent sudden rushes of gas.

    3. Listen for Hissing Sounds:

While opening the valve, listen for any hissing sounds. If you hear such sounds or smell gas, immediately close the valve, evacuate the area, and contact your propane supplier.

Remember, safety is paramount when dealing with propane. If you ever feel unsure or encounter any issues, it's best to consult with your propane supplier or a qualified professional for assistance. If there are specific guidelines or procedures provided by your propane supplier, be sure to follow those instructions.

  • No. We regret to inform you that we are unable to safely fill grill and cylinder tanks due to the absence of a scale in our facility. The use of a scale is crucial for accurately measuring and determining the amount of propane in each tank. Without a scale, we cannot ensure precise fill levels, posing potential safety risks associated with overfilling. Our commitment to safety and regulatory compliance is paramount, and until a scale is in place, we prioritize the well-being of our customers and maintain the suspension of propane filling services for grill and cylinder tanks. We appreciate your understanding as we work diligently to address this matter and resume services with the highest standards of safety and accuracy in place.
